Yes folks, DCut is celebrating its 7th year in the wedding industry
this love-filled month of February! I can already sense a deluge of
calls and text messages demanding a big celebration.
I still vividly remember the very humble beginnings. I was the CEO
(Chief Everything Officer) at that time -- planning, conceptualizing,
shooting, editing, revising, mastering, and all the other "ing" you can
think of. DCut is a virtual unknown compared to the more established
studios at that time.
Yet I mustered enough lakas ng loob and kapal ng mukha because
I knew I had something different to offer. Thank goodness, I made
my presence felt and many took notice (and their legs trembled in fear).
Just kidding!
Okay, before I cry a bucket due to a fit of nostalgia, let's fast forward
to 2008. The most important question people are asking me aside from
"When are you getting married?", which is more difficult to answer
than "Who ordered Ninoy's assassination?" is: What's next for
Director's Cut?
To give you a partial rundown, here goes:
1. Acquire new equipment and additional manpower. Because even
the CEO needs a helping hand or two. Hope the cash keeps flowing
inward.
2. More innovative concepts and techniques in our videos. We won't
stop trying to outdo ourselves everytime. We have a reservoir of
creative juices still to be poured.
3. Beat deadlines and backlogs. This is the perennial problem among
videographers. And this is definitely not among our favorite
conversation topics. Haha!
4. Compete in more contests here and abroad. After finishing among
the Top 5 in the 1st Sony Video Competition and the very encouraging
results in the WEVA Creative Excellence Awards held in Las Vegas,
the entire DCut Team is more motivated than ever to work harder,
try our luck and hope for the best.
5. Have a lovelife after four lonely Valentines. Now that's wishful thinking.
To my relentless DCut Team, cheers to many more years of superb videos!
